Real Wedding Planning Series: What To Do After Getting Engaged (Follow Brittyn & Chase’s Journey)

Just Engaged? Follow This Real Wedding Journey From “Yes” to “I Do”

There’s something really special about the beginning of wedding planning.

It starts with excitement.A million ideas.Late-night conversations about what your day could look like.

And then somewhere in between all of that…the questions start.

Where do we even begin?

What actually matters first?

How do we make decisions without feeling overwhelmed?

If that’s you—you’re exactly who this is for.

Meet Brittyn & Chase 🤍

Over the next several months, I’m going to take you behind the scenes of a real wedding planning journey—from the very first steps all the way to “I do.”

This is Brittyn and Chase.

Newly engaged couple in Redlands, CA

At the end of 2019, we met through our parents, and for a while, we were truly just friends.

At the time, we had no idea how much our lives were about to change. It all started with “homework help with math,” which quickly became our excuse to talk to each other—but even then, it was simply a genuine friendship.

For a while, that’s all it was...a steady, easy friendship that continued to grow. As our families grew closer, so did we. What began as just friends slowly became the foundation for everything, and since February 13, 2021, we have been inseparable.

Brittyn and Chase

We’ve walked through so many stages of life side by side—growing, learning, and becoming who we are together. From our teenage years into adulthood, we’ve been there for each other through it all.

University of Redlands Engagement

On March 15, 2026, at the University of Redlands, we reached one of the most special moments in our story when Chase got down on one knee and asked for forever.

And of course, I said yes to the life we’re building together.

They’re at the very beginning of this process—excited, in love, and stepping into something completely new.

A Quick Note About Their Wedding Vision

From the very beginning, Brittyn and Chase knew one thing:

They wanted an outdoor wedding.

Because of that, they won’t be getting married at our venue, The Veil Wedding Loft.

And honestly—that’s exactly how this should work.

Not every venue is the right fit for every couple. What matters most is finding a space and an experience that aligns with your vision.

I’ll be walking alongside them as their planner and coordinator, helping bring their day together from start to finish—just in a different setting.

Why This Wedding Feels Extra Special to Me

Couple engaged in downtown Redlands

One of the things that makes this journey even more meaningful for me is the connection behind it.

I still remember the day Chase was born.

Life has a way of taking people in different directions, and while we weren’t always closely connected over the years, it’s been really special to see how our paths have come back together more recently.

I met Brittyn in April 2024, where her and Chase were apart of a wedding at our venue—back when we had just purchased it and it was still known as Speakeasy on State (now The Veil Wedding Loft).

And then in 2025, everything came full circle.

Jason and I started attending the church where Brittyn’s parents are pastors, and over time, our families became close in a way that just felt natural and easy.

So when Brittyn and Chase asked me to step into this role as their planner and coordinator, it meant more than just being part of another wedding.

It felt personal.

From Venue Owner to Planner & Coordinator

Owning The Veil Wedding Loft has given me the opportunity to walk alongside so many couples on one of the biggest days of their lives.

I’ve seen what works.

I’ve seen what causes stress.

And I’ve seen how much of a difference it makes when couples feel truly supported throughout the process.

But stepping into this role for Brittyn and Chase—outside of our venue and in a completely different setting—gives me a unique perspective.

I’m not just seeing weddings from inside our walls

I’m helping build one from the ground up, in real time

And that’s exactly what I want to share with you through this series.

Why We’re Sharing This Journey Of What To Do After Getting Engaged

After working with so many couples, I’ve seen the same thing over and over again:

It’s not a lack of ideas that makes wedding planning stressful…it’s a lack of clarity.

  • There’s so much inspiration out there

  • So many options

  • So many opinions

But not a lot that actually walks you through:

  • what to do first

  • how to make decisions confidently

  • and how to avoid unnecessary stress along the way

So instead of just giving advice…

I want to show you what this actually looks like in real life.

What You’ll See Along the Way

This isn’t a styled shoot.This isn’t a perfectly curated checklist.

This is real wedding planning—as it’s happening.

As we walk through this with Brittyn and Chase, we’ll be sharing:

  • What to do right after getting engaged

  • How to start touring venues (and what to look for)

  • How to build a budget that actually works

  • Vendor decisions that shape your entire experience

  • Timeline planning that keeps everything running smoothly

And the moments in between that no one really talks about…

the ones that can either feel overwhelming—or completely manageable with the right guidance.

A Little Perspective From Me

As a venue owner and someone stepping into the role of planner and coordinator for this wedding, I get a unique view of the process from both sides.

And if there’s one thing I know, it’s this:

Wedding planning doesn’t have to feel chaotic to be beautiful.

When you have the right structure, support, and guidance, everything starts to feel more clear… more organized… and honestly, a lot more enjoyable.

That’s what I want this series to give you.

You’re Invited to Follow Along

This is just the beginning.

We’ll be sharing each step as Brittyn and Chase move through the planning process—so you can follow along, learn as you go, and feel more confident in your own decisions.

If you’re newly engaged or right in the middle of planning…

you’re in the right place.

If you’re someone who wants guidance through this process—whether your wedding is indoor, outdoor, or somewhere in between—that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about where you get married…

it’s about how supported you feel getting there.

Planning a wedding in Southern California comes with a lot of decisions—and knowing where to start can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re newly engaged or already touring wedding venues, having the right guidance can make all the difference in how your wedding day comes together.

At The Veil Wedding Loft, we work with couples throughout Redlands and the surrounding Inland Empire to create weddings that feel organized, intentional, and completely taken care of. And if you’re looking for a venue that offers both a beautiful space and a structured, supportive planning experience, we’d love to show you what that can look like in person.
